My name is Geula Hebron, this year I take on the role of Training and Curriculum Coordinator for the Tarbuton children’s Supplementary School program.  I serve as the Head of the Hebrew Department for a San Diego Jewish Day School and also teach in the Tarbuton Ulpan.

Our Children’s Modern Hebrew curriculum is designed for students who want to develop Hebrew literacy; to read, write, speak and understand Hebrew.  Our curriculum offers students a wide range of activities, worksheets and educational games respectively for each student’s level.

Student levels are determined by assessment exams at the first meeting on the first day of school.  In the middle of the year, we will assess progress and validate the students are advancing as expected in their level.  At the end of the year, we will do a final assessment with the following objectives a) to give feedback to students on their progress from the year and b) to prepare for levels in the coming year.

In Judaica classes, we will focus on Jewish values and responsibilities, Israeli and Jewish Holidays and Bible stories, Jewish heritage and values ​​with age appropriate programming.

In my experience, if we match our team’s extensive teaching styles and techniques, experience with Hebrew language instruction, values ​​and experience with Israel with your Parent support and involvement with your children’s education we will have a successful year.

שמי גאולה חברון, מורה-ראש מחלקה להוראת העברית בתיכון ומלמדת באולפן למבוגרים בתרבותון.

 שמחה לעבוד בשנת הלימודים תשע”ד הבאה עלינו לטובה, כיועצת ומנחה לתוכנית הלימודים ודרכי הוראה גם בתרבותון.

תוכנית הלימודים בעברית מיועדת לכל התלמידים הרוצים לדעת עברית. לקרוא, לכתוב,לדבר ולהבין בעברית.  בתוכנית הלימודים אנו מציעים לתלמידים קשת רחבה של פעילויות, דפי עבודה ומשחקים בהתאמה לרמתו של כל תלמיד.

רמת התלמיד נקבעת על פי השגיו בבחינות מיון במפגש הראשון, יום הראשון ללימודים.

באמצע השנה, נקיים מבחן כדי לבדוק התקדמות והשתלבות התלמיד בכיתתו.

ובסוף השנה מטרות המבחן א) לתת היזון חוזר לתלמידים על התקדמותם במשך כל השנה. ב)לתרבותון כלי לשיבוץ התלמידים ברמה המתאימה כהכנה לשנת הלימודים הבאה.

בתחום היהדות, נתמקד בנושאים עיקריים (שחובה על כל ילד יהודי לדעת) חגי ישראל וסיפורי המקרא, מורשת וערכים בהתאמה לרמת התלמידים.

מנסיוני, גיוון בהוראה ,הקניית השפה ,ערכים ומורשת ישראל בתמיכה מלאה וקשר טוב איתכם ההורים  נצליח לעודד ולהביא את תלמידי התרבותון להשגים נאים.

לסיום, אני מזמינה את ההורים והתלמידים להצטרף לחווית הלימוד של עברית חיה ותוססת בתרבותון.
