Startup Jewish & Israeli Communities in San Diego

Since 2006, we have helped community members design hundreds of programs engaging over 2000 Jewish households in Jewish life and introducing them to new Jewish friends.

Programs for all ages have been offered in Del Mar, Carmel Valley, Carlsbad, Encinitas, Solana Beach, La Jolla and Del Cerro by Jewish community members in rented spaces, public schools, parks, libraries and bookstores.

From formal classes to informal playgroups, local Jewish groups for hiking, cooking, dancing, enjoying Israeli films, reading Israeli literature have offered in weekly or bi-monthly gatherings.  Speakers, plays and concerts are planned by community members too.

Build & Transform

Don’t see something you want, but have the energy, and enthusiasm to build something? We’ll help.  Check out community members like Gady, who offers Israeli music programs online radio station at Kol California and Steve & Yossi who organize the local Jewish biker group Shalom and Chrome.

We help San Diego’s Jewish community launch projects that make Jewish San Diego a warmer, more interesting, more deeply connected place. We also recognize Jewish educators through the Harold Grinspoon Foundation and more.

In 2017, at the Jewish Community Hackathon, over 18 new projects pitched their ideas and worked with friends to reinvent Jewish San Diego with their programs. You can see some of the programs that continue here.
