Startup18 brings the Songleader Boot Camp (SLBC) to San Diego on 3/31/2019. SLBC provides powerful Jewish leadership training for community members, teen leaders, veteran and new songleaders and Jewish educators. Led by nationally renowned Jewish thought leader and musician, Rick Recht, SLBC teaches participants specific skills and strategies to inspire transformative change in their Jewish communities. The SLBC experience is rich in inspirational Jewish music and communal singing. A free concert is planned as part of the JCC’s Family Day from 5:30-7:00 p.m. featuring Rick, local Jewish teen bands, and SLBC participants.

Adults and Teens are invited to participate in SLBC. SLBC provides leadership skills that can greatly benefit community members spiritual and personal lives:
● Participate in intensive, super-charged sessions with Jewish music artists.
● Learn valuable skills for becoming a leader in your community.
● Grow your confidence and be ready to rock out any presentation or performance.
● Gain super star presentation and/or songleading techniques.
● Create a Strategic Roadmap for long-term growth.
SLBC participants do not need to sing or play an instrument to fully experience ALL that SLBC has to offer. Music is one of many vehicles for connection and inspiration explored at SLBC.

Teens are encouraged to apply for this unique Fellowship which includes SLBC registration and an internship where they can use their new skills. Led by Hillel Rubin, a Jewish musician and songleader, this high school leadership program teaches students general leadership skills, and
provides internship opportunities with the goal to build strong, vibrant, future leaders of the Jewish world. Note : Teens may participate in SLBC without participating in the Fellowship.

● Use your new skills in a local internship to strengthen college applications and resume.

STAR State is a powerful and highly motivational leadership training seminar demonstrating methods utilized by the world’s top athletes, entertainers, and educators to quickly and consistently achieve a peak physical and psychological state to achieve extraordinary performance. What do these ‘best in class’ performers share in common? They all utilize STAR State techniques to guarantee the very best version of themselves is front and center whether on a stage, bima, or in a classroom. The STAR State workshop is highly interactive, physical, and fun. STAR State provides wonderful practical, take-home, techniques for educators, clergy, teens and songleaders to utilize in their personal and professional lives to achieve a peak state when alone, in the community, with colleagues, or with friends and family.
11:00-11:45 Head to Toes: Interactive body dynamics
The Head-to-Toes interactive body dynamics master course explores ways top presenters utilize every aspect of their bodies, body distance, and words of praise to create exciting, meaningful, interactive experiences in various settings of synagogue life and beyond. In this workshop, we not only learn ways to employ Head to Toes techniques, but also to teach and practice these valuable techniques to other leaders and teachers.

A practical and interactive workshop where participants analyze and explore ways to consistently create powerful learning and teaching experiences in Jewish education as well as personal and professional communication. Borrowing from methods used by both rabbinic scholars and top sales performers in the business world, RTKS shares a simple framework that Jewish educators can utilize to guarantee a top performance from the classroom to the bima and beyond.
