Save the Music
What? SaveTheMusic.com is a 501c-3 non-profit organization based in San Diego with Zamlers in 4 continents dedicated to saving and promoting Jewish music by finding old recordings, enriching them with lyrics, translations, transliterations, sheet music, biographies of performers, composers, etc. digitizing the songs including Yiddish, Hebrew, Ladino and Chazonish music, and making all this information available on-line to young performers and everybody interested in Jewish music.
When? The effort is on-going and contributors or “Zamlers” as they refer to them are invited to send in recordings and materials year round.
There’s More Among a variety of volunteers supporting this effort from around the world, Save the Music has a fan in Elisheva Edelson, a local Yiddish and Ladino educator who seeks to add educational content to the Save the Music site for the next generation.
